our le public habituel, le nom de Carl Davis est associé à une centaine de musiques de films et de séries télévisées ; ainsi qu’au Liverpool Oratorio de Paul McCartney dont il réalisa l’orchestration et la mise en forme. Pourtant, Davis a également signé de nombreuses partitions de ballet, donc ce somptueux Aladdin pour le London Contemporary Dance Company, résolument romantico-hollywoodien.
    Les puristes estimeront que Davis réchauffe des plats largement consommés depuis des années – de Tchaïkovski à Delibes, Prokofiev et toute la musique hollywoodienne – mais il semble que c’est précisément là son propos ! Ses somptueux effets orchestraux n’ont d’égal que l’imagination visuelle de ces Mille et une Nuits de tableau orientaliste.
    On découvrira au passage l’étonnant Orchestre Philharmonique de Malaisie, un excellent orchestre de niveau international, basé à Kuala Lumpur !
