n ces années 50 à 60, Alfred Deller et ses acolytes – Gustav Leonhardt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Michael Tippett, Neville Marriner encore au violon, George Malcolm au clavecin, Robert Tear, Helen Watts, Philip Jones à la trompette et tant d’autres – s’amusaient à défricher le monde encore vierge de la « musique ancienne jouée selon les principes de l’époque ». Et encore… on explorait, on essayait, on tentait, mais force est de constater que l’extraordinaire contreténor de Deller a su inspirer toute une génération de musiciens de l’authentique.
