Rias-Kammerchor - Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester - Michail Jurowski, direction

a musique d'Aram Khatchaturian, fortement ancrée dans la tradition du Caucase (Azerbaïdjan, Géorgie), frappe directement l'oreille par son immédiateté et son rythme entraînant. Son ballet Spartacus en trois actes, complété en 1952 et créé au Kirov en 1956, est sa dernière grande oeuvre, et a connu plusieurs chorégraphies successives, dont celle de Yuri Grigorovich qui connut un grand succès en 1968 au Bolchoi. C'est cette dernière version qui fournit le modèle du fastueux enregistrement dirigé par Michail Jurowski.
