Œuvres de Kreisler, Dvorak, Massenet, Chopin, Schubert, Tchaïkovski, Rachmaninov, Bach, Rameau & Benjamin / William Primrose, violon

e grand altiste écossais William Primrose fut un géant de l'alto, il a révolutionné le jeu de son instrument à la fois par sa virtuosité et et la myriade des couleurs qu'il pouvait déployer. Il a enregistré nombre de concertos et sonates, mais aussi de courtes pièces que l'on peut entendre sur cet album, de Chopin à Dvorak, en passant par Kreisler ou Arthur Benjamin. On y retrouve sa sonorité suave et généreuse, parfois au violon, et accompagné sur deux pièces par la grande chanteuse Marian Anderson.
